Five Services You Can Offer As A Writer

By Marenda Taylor

To make money by providing writing services, there are several ways you can generate revenue - both through writing and other additional services. In this article we're going to look at five ways you can make more money by expanding your writing services.

Of course the most obvious service you'll be providing as a writer is, in fact, writing. Whether you're writing web content, ebooks or other types of content, you're doing a service for people who don't have time to write or just aren't interested in doing it themselves.

There are plenty of additional "add-on" services you can add to your offerings, however. One of the most obvious is market research.

If you are offering article writing as a service, you could also include keyword and market research along with it. Instead of your clients doing the initial research and handing you the topics to write on, you could do it all - generate a keyword list, find the best affiliate offers, write the articles and so on.

Article spinning is another service that is often popular with people looking for web content. Whatever your personal opinion on spinning might be, there are lots of people who use it as part of their content strategy.

What's stopping you from offering spinning as an add-on service for your article writing? Spinning can be time-consuming so many marketers will pay more for the spinning service than they do for the initial seed article.

On a similar note, you could also offer graphics and web design services to compliment your writing. Instead of merely writing the report, you could also create a squeeze page or full minisite design, create cover graphics and more.

You can even sub-contract this work out to other people if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. Good writers are typically harder to find than graphics designers, partly because of language barriers, so you can often earn a profit on this work by outsourcing it and marking up the cost when you pass it on to your customer.

Look at all the processes involved in marketing, not just the writing itself. This can give you lots of ideas for further services you can offer your customers. With a little effort, you could turn yourself into a "one-stop shop" for all their needs.
