Domestic Helper Job description-The Truthful Definition Behind a Domestic Helper Job Description

By Alice Sy

There's no need to clearly define the domestic job helper description because in reality there isn't a clear one. Every average family is different. Every high class family has unique needs. They make their own job description and there is nothing wrong with that just as long as the domestic helper understands it beforehand.

When you want a nanny, you know it's more than that. A domestic helper job is usually a combination of caretaking skills and housekeeping, especially if there is no one at home to help in the task. In special cases the nanny is even expected to tutor the child. This is mostly true for the average family who has a manageable household and a child to be taken cared of.

The domestic helper job description is always not final. The housekeeper job description for one is not about having the skills to clean, cook, go to the market and wash the clothes. It needs time management, personal assistance to the members of the home and the ability to discern what the employer means when they want the house to be 'clean' and the food to taste "good".

Even the job descriptions of domestic staff as gardeners can be inconclusive. Mostly, gardening is under the housekeeper job or that of a handyman. The gardener however can also perform other physically challenging tasks as washing the car or fixing things at home so employers never really look for gardeners alone, they need a housekeeper who can just perform gardening or car washing.

The true definition therefore of a domestic helper job is to be able to help in all ways possible at home. Be useful every time a member of the household needs help, physically and sometimes even emotionally. Whatever the domestic helper job should be, it is always subjected to the agreement of both the employer and the household staff.
